Chelsea and Bobby – a Wolfville Wedding

As you can see from the photos, Chelsea and Bobby had a beautiful wedding day – starting at the Victoria House Inn, then heading to the Botanical Gardens, Prescott House, and finally Port Williams for the ceremony and reception.  They couldn’t have asked for better weather, or a better group of people to celebrate with.  It was such a joy to be a part of it.  It had everything that all the best weddings have – Joy, Sweetness, and, of course, Love.  Love that, it was clear, will span all distances, will span all differences, will carry them through the rest of their lives with humour and compassion.  Not to mention a group of family and friends that pulled together to create magic in the Port Williams fire hall.  I mean, really.  You guys rock!  Enjoy your preview!

Jaclyn & Chris – a Hubbards Wedding

Jaclyn & Chris are just such a super nice, super fun couple – a fact which I’m sure you’ll see is in full evidence in their wedding photos!  They came out all the way from Australia to celebrate their wedding in Jaclyn’s native Hubbards area (if you’re ever in the area, take the time to check out Hubbards Barn – you won’t regret it!)  You would never know, however, that this was a wedding planned from a distance – it was full of lovely home-made touches (Jaclyn actually MADE this dress, like, with her own two hands!), sweet locations loaned from local (VERY local) celebrity millionaires, and hidden cabins.  And, of course, love.  Lots and lots of love.  You couldn’t help but feel their joy at celebrating a love that truly seems to have been destined from the start.  I always love hearing stories of how people fell in love, and theirs is one of the best I’ve heard!  Thanks for sharing it with me and Colin, you two – enjoy your preview!

Margaret & Mathieu – the South Shore Elopement Wedding

I’ve been struggling with what to write for Margaret & Mathieu’s very special day.  It was just so very special.  When they contacted me to see if I would be available for their South Shore elopement on a sheep farm, I already knew this was going to be something unique.  Margaret’s dress was  handmade in Nova Scotia.  They were getting married at Petite Riviere B&B.  It was just them, their beautiful daughter Eleanor, their friends Tara and Kajtek and their son, Mason.  Plus a small herd of sheep, a big pile of chickens, some friendly geese, and a very, very friendly turkey.  (Really, are turkeys always this friendly?  It was like a giant, feathered dog, following us around the whole day.)  It was my first elopement, but I very sincerely hope that it won’t be my last.  There was something so amazing about creating such a personal and intimate day to celebrate your love – like I said, just very special.  Thank you, Margaret and Mathieu (and Eleanor, too) for including me – I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek!

Oh Lauren! What a unique wedding and what a touching, personal and beautiful gift you have given this bride and groom. My fave is the one with the geese in the foreground and the goat going for the bouquet with only the baby noticing, chickens in the background, bride and groom kissing, it’s like the whole day in one photo, perfect.

Amanda & Chris – Annapolis Valley Wedding

Amanda and Chris chose to get married at the beautiful Orchardview Weddings, just outside of Berwick.  I’d been there before, but it was even prettier this first weekend in August, with the apples growing, and the flowers blooming, not to mention that amazing sunset!  I couldn’t have asked for a better setting for this super sweet couple.  Of course, Amanda and Chris would look gorgeous no matter where you put them!

Plus they are just so obviously in love – they smiled, touched, and kissed their way through their special day, with absolutely no prompting from me.  It was obvious, even just from watching their friends and family celebrate with smiles and tears, that these two have found something very special.  Even the weather gods smiled on them, as we watched the rain pass through the Valley (check out those clouds during the ceremony) but felt not one single drop.  Kate and I felt very lucky to be a part of it all, and it is my privilege to share some (and it really is just some) of my favourites here with you – enjoy!

Courtney & Marc – Annapolis Royal Wedding

Kate and I had a lot of fun photographing this wedding for Courtney and Marc.  First of all, Courtney and Marc are a super nice, super sweet, and super fun couple who are just so clearly meant to be together that it was no problem catching them giving each other loving looks and sweet kisses.  Second of all, the ceremony and reception took place on Courtney’s family’s amazing property on the banks of the Annapolis River, which provided beautiful trees, fields of flowers, and a long romantic driveway – not to mention lots of room for a couple of tents to fill with family and friends.  Thirdly, we got to trip into Annapolis Royal for a super fun photo session, which included, quite possibly, the best jump shot ever (check out all that air, at the top of that very tall hill!)  And, last but not least, Courtney and Marc were nice enough to oblige us as we set up, tested, and finally shot, that last shot.  A moonlit, mist-cloaked, clearing in the grass, and a couple in love… what more could a photographer ask for?  (Ok, maybe a dessert buffet – oh wait, they had that, too!)  Thanks Courtney and Marc – enjoy your preview!
