Lesley & Ryan – Engagement Photos in Meteghan, NS

When Lesley suggested that we meet at Sip Cafe in Meteghan for her and Ryan’s engagement photos, I knew it must be nice, but I had no idea how much I was going to love it.  Funky hanging lightbulbs, exposed wood and brick, shiny surfaces, and best of all, a completely gorgeous couple = one very happy photographer.  And then we decided to head to Mavillette Beach for a few more photos, and my little heart just about burst – a fluffy dog, and misty fog, and sand, and waves, and love!!!!  Needless to say, I am already looking forward to the wedding next year!

Spectacular!! What a great Cafe – worth a trip. Beautiful couple and beautiful photographs, Lauren!

[…] Shore of Nova Scotia. I think these guys must love the beach as much as I do, since we went to Mavillette Beach for their engagement photos last year – so I got to visit TWO of the Province’s nicest beaches with them. That alone would […]

Michael & Priscilla – Annapolis Valley Wedding Photography

Michael and Priscilla celebrated their backyard wedding one hot and sunny afternoon in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. The day was filled with love, laughter, children, community, and live music – everything that they wanted their day to be.   Not to mention being one of the most laid-back and stress-free weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending!  A beautiful bride, adorable attendants, and a handsome groom who serenaded her in front of the whole town – what’s not to love?  Thank you guys – I loved it all, and I hope you enjoy this little Sneak Peek!

The DeZeeuw Family – Annapolis Valley Photography

It would be pretty hard not to fall a little bit in love with the DeZeeuws, after spending a morning in their company.  I, of course, didn’t even try!

Not only that, but I am totally in love with the idea of this photo shoot.  Their children and grandchildren made up a list of photographs they were hoping to see – things that they remembered from 45 years of living and loving in this same DeZeeuw household.  The little cupboard under the stairs where the toys are kept, they way they sit together with the crossword puzzle, or peeling potatoes for dinner… all the little nook and crannies, daily rituals, and memorable moments that go into a life to make it sparkle.

Thank you so much for inviting me to do this, it was incredibly joyful and rewarding! I would love to do more of this type of photoshoot – I only wish we had done it with my grandparents, when we had the chance.  Hopefully we can inspire others to do the same!

In the meantime, enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Love love love these photo’s. What a gift to have the memories of Oma and Opa to hold in your hand or on the wall, it was a great idea.Love them all, especially the one with the house in the background and them walking down the path beside the garden. I can hear their voices now and the laughter! Captured wonderfully.

A photo book of love; crafted to pay homage to the home these two wonderful people created for friend and family to gather and enjoy. The photos tell this love story so well.

An unique idea for a special couple.

Thanks for passing along the love.

[…] with the DeZeeuw family on the occasion of Ad’s 80th birthday.  You may remember them from the photo shoot we did last year. As before, they were an absolute delight. We spent the afternoon doing some family pictures, and […]

The Mooney Family – Annapolis Valley Family Photography

One of my favourite things about my job is getting to spend time with people’s families, as they celebrate special occasions together, and just plain old enjoy each other’s company.  We always have so much fun, and I know that the photos that I take will end up as treasured memories, making people smile for years afterward.

This is the Mooney family, and they are amazing.  (I know it looks like we went to a public park with beautifully maintained flower beds, but all of these pictures were taken in their backyard!) Thanks for having me, guys – enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Barry is one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have had the pleasure of knowing. Great to see him so happy.

Lisa & Jesse – the Annapolis Royal Courthouse Wedding

Lisa and Jesse met on a leap year, so it was fitting that they would choose to get married on February 29th at the courthouse in Annapolis Royal.  Rather than the snow we were hoping for, they got a beautiful sunny Winter day.  There IS a SMALL patch of snow in that top photo… not quite the snowy wedding photos we had pictured, but none of us had the heart to complain about the weather!  And truthfully, I can’t imagine a more beautiful setting or a more beautiful couple.  Just look at him, looking at her!  Lisa, Jesse, we enjoyed ourselves immensely – thank you so much for having us!  Enjoy your Sneak Peek!
