On Vacation…

We’re on vacation!   I’ll be back here on September 1st.  Until then, feel free to leave me a message!  Thanks!

I had heard you took some pic of the baby contest at the Annapolis Vally Ex. Is this true? If so I am interested in what pics you have as my little guy was in it. As well i am curious to know if you had atken any pic of the light horse classes at the Ex as well.
Thanks 🙂

Summer Shot List – Eating Popsicles

As soon as I saw “Eating Popsicles” on the list, I had this shot in mind.  Jai and Griffin saying “Cheers!” with their popsicles, or, as we like to call it, “Propsicles!”  I love the “old-timey” feel of it, and I love the little hints it gives of Griffin, as he is right now – a hint of a tattoo, a Momma-made bracelet, in Griffin-picked colours (black, because Daddy loves black, plus yellow and red, like a fire truck, of course).

It’s true: Summer is almost over, and so is the Summer Shot List.  I’m a little behind, though, so I suspect some of them will be showing up in September, just because!

Summer Shot List – At the Beach

A summer trip to Halifax isn’t complete without a trip to Rainbow Haven beach.  Of course, back at the house, it was hot and sunny, while the beach, as you can see, was fogged in and misty – just how I like it! (Something about growing up on the West Coast just enamors one of fog and mist – feels like home!)  Holly loved the feel of the sand on her fingers (and tongue) and squealed with delight when I took her into the water.  Griffin, on the other hand, much prefers the land – digging holes and requesting endless buckets of water to fill them up – good thing Grandma was there!  As you can see, he came prepared…

The Irving Centre Family Photo Shoot – Wolfville, NS

Jai and I will have been married for six years this September.  Bob and Judy have been married for over forty!  Their son and daughter and respective families were finally getting together, all in the same province at the same time, and they wanted to celebrate with pictures.  Of course I said, “Sure!”  Thirty-four years from now, I hope that Jai and I will be gathering with Griffin and Holly, and their families, to do the same thing.   And I hope we look this good doing it!

Here’s a little peek:

Families in the Park (First Annual)

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.  I wanted to offer some way for families who couldn’t necessarily afford a full session to still get some family photos taken.  It’s really important to me that every family that wants one can have a professional family portrait taken.  But I know it’s hard.  It’s one of those things that’s so easy to put off.  And then the time passes before you know it.

So I came up with this.  Two full days of mini-sessions.  And the price includes one free 8×10 print.  Every family should have a photo on the wall – it helps you feel connected, it shows the love for all to see, it serves as a document of a point in time – when you were all together, in this place. It means something, that you cared enough to come together, to take a small piece of a busy weekend, to capture that love.

Won’t you join me?

It’s almost here!  The First Annual Families in the Park Day!

Just in time for your family Christmas cards…

WHAT IT IS:

For $75, you will recieve: one 20 minute photo session with Lauren Kaye Photography, an on-line gallery of images to choose from, and one free 8×10 professionally-printed photo.

WHEN IT IS:

Families in the Park will take place over 2 days – September 29 or 30th.  When you contact me to book your time, we will choose the best slot from what’s available.  Please contact me sooner rather than later, if you have a specific time in mind. *All shoots are by appointment only.*

Rain dates are October 13 & 14th.

WHERE IT IS:

Photo sessions will take place at Valley View Park. Please note that the park is closed at this time of year, and we will be parking at the entrance and walking in.  A limited number of sessions will also be available at Jubilee Park in Bridgetown.  Please specify your preference when you contact us.

HOW IT WORKS:
You can book sessions for any reasons at all – they are great for having family photos done, engagement photos, or maternity photos.  At the time of booking, we will go over what you are hoping to get out of the session together, so that Lauren Kaye Photography can optimize your experience.  Props are certainly welcomed, and even encouraged.  Examples of props might be: a sign/banner with your name on it, or stating that you have just gotten engaged; a big bunch of balloons; your child’s favourite dress-up costume; a favourite quilt; or a family picnic.

You will get an on-line Sneak Peek of images, posted in the week after the sessions.  Your on-line gallery will be available for ONE WEEK – October 12-19th, 2012.  During this time you can specify which photo you would like for your free print, as well as place any orders for additional products.  Orders placed after this one week period will be charged an extra $20, to cover the shipping costs.

CONTACT US TO BOOK YOUR SPOT:

You can use the contact form at the top of this web-site to e-mail us, or call us at (902) 665-4502 to book your spot.  Once I recieve your call/e-mail, I will be in touch to confirm a time, and answer any questions you might have!

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Ana,
That’s great! Yes, it is in Bridgetown – just above it, on the North Mountain. As you come into town, turn right on South St, and follow it up to the top of the mountain, where you will see the entrance to Valley View. Can you get in touch with me through the contact link at the top of the page? I can’t get your e-mail from the comments. Thanks!
