Annapolis Royal Newborn Photography – Baby Faye

Sarah’s wonderful family was one of the first families I ever had the pleasure of photographing – back when they were five.  Now they are six!  What a beautiful new addition Faye is, and what a lucky baby to be surrounded by so much love.  Thanks for having me over again, Smith family, I hope you enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Grand Pre Newborn Photography – Baby Alexa

It was such a joy to be invited to photograph baby Alexa and her big brother Logan.  They have a beautiful, light-filled house overlooking farmer’s fields and the bay of fundy.  Oh, the light! It made me want to knock down all my walls and replace them with windows.  (Of course, returning home, I realized that my view would mostly consist of our nieghbour and her six cats, so… maybe not.  I’ll just have to enjoy these photos instead!)

And look at these two kids – could you get any sweeter?  Logan was a little reluctant at first, but didn’t take long to warm up to the whole process, especially after Dad brought his bicycle inside.  (Who wouldn’t want to ride a bicylce around in their house?) And Alexa was a perfect model – sleepy and snuggly and sweet.  She’s the kind of baby that makes you want more babies.  You know, theoretically.

Here’s a couple of shots from our day:

The Families in the Park Sneak Peek

Well, our Families in the Park event had a bit of a rocky start this year, with multiple rain days driving us from September all the way into November in some cases!  However, in the end we got it done, and I’m so glad we did.  We ended up with mini-sessions in both Jubilee Park and Valley View Park – both places were just stunning, and I think a good time was had by all 🙂  Here’s a little Peek into our days (including two shots from our “test” mini-session – my kids are like the Pidgeon in Mo Willems’ books – popping up all over the place!)  A big thanks to everyone who “weathered” all those rain days with me – you guys are awesome!

The tree photograph is spectacular! They are all great – very beautiful families.

Berwick Engagement Session Sneak Peek, and the benefits of meeting at Tim Horton’s

Matt and Ashley are so much fun.  These two were up for anything.  Since nobody had a strong feeling about any particular place for this photo shoot, we decided to meet in the middle and drive around from there.  A good middle, it was decided, would be the Timmy’s in Berwick. While in line, a woman overheard us talking and sent us down a long dead-end street, to the perfect place for a photo shoot.  Seriously – if you want the inside scoop, hang out in the local Tim Hortons.

Here’s a small sampling of the things we got up to.  I’m always driving around thinking, “Oh, that’s such a great spot for a photo shoot” so this was a bit of a dream come true for me! (Plus, look at these two – could they be any sweeter?)

New Minas Family Photo Session – a Sneak Peek

I was delighted when Ceilidh and Ira contacted me to see if I could photograph their family.  I could tell, right from the first e-mail, that this was a family who liked to have fun together.  And I wasn’t wrong – these guys love to laugh – and I loved shooting this session!  I met them at their beautiful property in New Minas – a mini sanctuary for spider, fish, and frogs.  They pulled out a family quilt that was made for their wedding, and we headed out to take some pictures, pick some apples, climb some trees, and have some fun.  There were so many good pictures, and this is just a small selection, but I had to include some of my favourite apple shots to share here – there’s something so quintessentially “Annapolis Valley” about this time of year, and the scent of a fresh apple.  Enjoy!

Really nice shots. ONE of my favourites is of the family with you and Ira facing each other about to kiss.

Love them all so much! 🙂
