The Andrews Family – Annapolis Valley Family & Maternity Photography

It was a beautiful Fall day when I got together with the Andrews family, visiting all the way from Saskatchewan! The North Mountain was full of colour, and in all her glory, but also just a tad on the chilly side!  When our fingers were numb, we headed down the mountain into Berwick and reconvened at Sip Cafe.  If you’ve never been there, you should check it out!  Hot chocolate and picture books – is there a better combination?  Well, maybe the Andrews family!  Thanks so much for getting in touch from your home province, and inviting me to join you for the morning – it was lovely!

Leah & Dailis – Annapolis Valley Wedding Photography

Leah & Dailis were not going to let a little wind and rain deter them from getting some beautiful engagement photos while they were home visiting.  These guys were awesome – laughing together the whole time – we barely even noticed the water dripping all around us!  Thanks guys – I am so looking forward to the wedding next year!

Kejimkujik with the Arsenault Family – Annapolis Valley Family Photography

I’ve had the great pleasure of photographing the Arsenault family before, so I’m always excited to get a message from Tina.  We’ve been to some great locations (Halls Harbour, Annapolis Royal, and their own backyard) but this year she said, “we’re renting a yurt at Keji!” and my photographer’s heart began beating double time!  “Sounds great!” I managed to type back (luckily no one was around to see my ridiculous happy dance – I’ve picked up a few moves from my four-year-old!)  Anyway, without further ado, here is a little taste of the awesomeness that was the Arsenault family at Kejimkujik Park:

The Extended Arsenault Family – Annapolis Valley Family Photography

What a joy and privilege it always is to be able to meet a family, and follow along as they grow and change.  My first session with the Arsenault family (posted here) was very memorable for me, so it was lovely to hear from them again.  It was hard not to feel like someone was missing, but also wonderful to meet the new additions.  I’ve always known that family is important, but the older I get, the more I realize how impermanent, and yet, enduring, a family is.  I feel very lucky that I sometimes get to document this passage of time, to record some of life’s big changes, and to know that these memories will never be lost. Thank you again for having me again!

Lauren, you’ve done it again! These photos perfectly capture our extended family as it is at this moment, and you really did a beautiful job of showing the amount of love that we all have for each other and our children. Thank you so much for continuing to document our journey together.

All the best,

Colleen Arsenault & Family

Lesley & Ryan – Engagement Photos in Meteghan, NS

When Lesley suggested that we meet at Sip Cafe in Meteghan for her and Ryan’s engagement photos, I knew it must be nice, but I had no idea how much I was going to love it.  Funky hanging lightbulbs, exposed wood and brick, shiny surfaces, and best of all, a completely gorgeous couple = one very happy photographer.  And then we decided to head to Mavillette Beach for a few more photos, and my little heart just about burst – a fluffy dog, and misty fog, and sand, and waves, and love!!!!  Needless to say, I am already looking forward to the wedding next year!
