Atlantica Hotel Wedding – Halifax Wedding Photographer

This was another wedding I shot with Emma Rose last summer – these two were so much fun.  It was yet another moment in my life when I wished I were bilingual – some of those french jokes got a lot of laughs!  The beach pictures were taken at Point Pleasant Park, at a part of the park I had never seen before.  As you can see, it was a super pretty spot, although somewhat challenging for a second photographer, trying to stay out of Emma’s shot!  Anyway, here are a couple of my favourites from the day:

Bridgetown Engagement Shoot – Marc & Courtney Sneak Peek

Courtney and Marc suggested we head to Two Lakes Retreat Chalets for their engagement session, since this is the place they got engaged.  It was my first time there, but I think I’ll be back!  It was a beautiful location, and Courtney and Marc are a super sweet couple.  I love it when we can bring some fun and personal details into a photo session – it really adds an element of story for me.  And I like my photos to tell a story.  So whenever anyone asks me if they can bring something along, the answer is always a resounding YES.  Can we bring our dog?  YES.  Can I include this yellow umbrella? YES!  Please do.  Thanks for being such a great team, you two – enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Kentville Family Photography – Stacey, Craig, and Kees – the Sneak Peek

I knew when Stacey suggested that we meet at the Kentville Playground that these guys were going to be a lot of fun.  I’m sure many of you don’t know this about me, but I actually designed the Natural Playground here in Bridgetown.  This was my first time at the Kentville Playground, but I’m sure it won’t be my last, as I think Griffin and Holly would absolutely love it there.  Anyway, my point (which may have got lost somewhere along the way there) was that these guys are my type of people.  They obviously know how to have fun, and they obviously love each other to the ends of the Earth.  What more could a photographer ask for?  How about a warm sunny day, gorgeous parents, and a super cute one-year-old toddler?  Check, check, and check.

Bear River Newborn Photography – Baby Nicholas

Check out these oh-so-sweet pictures of baby Nicholas and family.  Nicholas’ Mommy and Daddy told me that he normally sleeps all day, but he was quite alert for most of our session.  Some babies look a little less cute when they are awake – they make funny expressions, or sometimes have crossed eyes.  Nicholas, on the other hand, was full of sweet smiles and obligingly looked right into my camera.  I couldn’t have asked for more!  There’s something about newborn sessions that really makes me feel awe.  I’m awestruck by the love, by the excitement, and by the feeling of connection that happens when a new baby arrives and creates a new family.  I’m awestruck, every time, by the trust that is placed in me to capture all these things with my camera, and, more than that, to get a glimpse into the truth of each family.  Thank you, Leblanc family, for inviting me in, and sharing with me some of these sweet, tender moments.  Enjoy your Sneak Peek!

The Not-so Boudoir Session

Hello!  I just finished editing a gorgeous boudoir session (my first) that I did with one of this year’s brides.  I can’t share any of it, though, as the photos are a surprise wedding gift for her fiance.  Maybe after the wedding, if I get a chance, as they really are just gorgeous.  Plus, I just think that’s  a really cool gift to give your fiance on your wedding day.  I wish I’d thought of it (and I bet Jai does, too!)

ANYWAY!  I wish I could share those, but I can’t.  Since that’s the case, I thought I’d share some more of our own home photos instead.  So here they are, some not-so-boudoir photos, just for fun.
